ITS has enhanced the university’s software website, software.uconn.edu.
ITS centrally manages both open source and university-licensed software products, and we make them available to the UConn community through the software website. Eligibility and acceptable use of university-licensed software is based on institutional role, activity, and equipment as outlined in product specific agreements. Navigating these restrictions can be complicated for individuals, especially when they have multiple affiliations. To facilitate adoption, we have introduced changes to our software website that streamline the search process and enhance overall usability. Using characteristics, categories, and keywords, visitors can readily filter products and display only applicable results. ITS has also vetted a wider array of open source alternatives that offer requested functionality and made them more visible.
