The role of Information Technology (IT) will continue to be crucial to the success of the University even as the role of ITS has evolved.
Our customers view IT as a global activity and not one that splits along esoteric boundaries. In deference to the perspective of our community and consistent with the institutional One UConn framework, I am removing ‘University’ from our name and rebranding the organization simply as Information Technology Services (ITS). This modest change is intended to emphasize IT capabilities over any distinction about where or how they are provided. The new ITS name is effective immediately, although it will likely take some time to remove the depreciated ITS designation from everywhere it might currently appear.
